Journal of Occupational Science (JOS) - Association of Occupational Science Inc Australia

Become a Referee

If you are interested in becoming a referee for the Journal of Occupational Science, please send an email to the Secretary, Editorial Office requesting that your name be added to the list of Reviewers. Please also send an abridged copy of your C.V. including details of your specialist knowledge particularly in relation to Occupational Science. Experience in writing articles for publication is desirable as this role involves support for those wishing to improve their skills in writing for publication. You may be asked to review an article once a year or oftener. How often you are asked will depend on the number of articles submitted in your area of expertise. The suggested turn around time for reviewing an article is four weeks or six weeks outside Australia. You can also suggest other suitable expert individuals to add to the network of people interested in furthering occupational science.

A standard guide assists in critiquing specific aspects of the manuscript such as 'Is the abstract clear and a true summary of the paper'. Other questions guide scrutiny of the introduction, key aspects of the philosophy, background literature, implications of the research or discussion and the conclusion.
